A demonstrative surgical operation of benign growth of the prostate gland (adenoma), using unique laser technology was conducted in “United SHBAL Plovdiv”. This is the second operation of such kind conducted in a medical facility of the “United Medical” group – the new technology was demonstrated for the first time in “United Medical Medical center Varna Bregalnitsa” in May.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of one of the leading European urology specialists – Orlin Savov M.D., owner of “Urologie 24” clinic in Nuremberg, Germany. According to doctor Savov the new modern treatment will minimize the in-hospital stay of the patient (24 hours of in-hospital stay after the surgery), as well as will minimize the risks of complications as a result of the intervention.
According to the specialists the new laser - Biolitec Twister, used to conduct the operation, is going to replace the so called “green” laser in Europe and the USA, due to its much higher efficiency and security. The new modern apparatus is more compact and does not need water cooling. Of great importance is also its multi-functionality in the field of urology and vascular surgery.
